So Vision boards, also known as dream boards, are basically a simple visualisation tools that you can create yourself.  These inspirational collages serve as your image of the future – a tangible example, idea or representation of where you are going. They are a representation of your dreams, your goals, and your ideal life.

Representing your goals with pictures and images stimulates your emotions because your mind responds strongly to visual stimulation…  “see everyday, believe everyday, achieve everyday”. (That’s my motto anyway).

Visualisation is one of the most powerful mind exercises you can express.

When you create a vision board and place it in a space where you see it often, you essentially end up doing short visualization exercises throughout the day.

According to the popular book The Secret, “The law of attraction is forming your entire life experience and it is doing that through your thoughts. When you are visualising, you are emitting a powerful frequency out into the Universe.”

Vision Board Tips

You can use your vision board to depict goals and dreams in all areas of your life, or in just one specific area that you are focusing on. So you can have multiple visions board.

Keep it neat, and really think about what you place in your vision board. It’s a good idea to focus on a category and have multiple boards.

Everyone has a different style, and its a personal choice, however it’s a good idea to avoid creating a cluttered or chaotic board.

Use only the words and images that best represent your purpose, your ideal future, and of course words that inspire positive emotions in you.

One way to increase your level of success when using your Vision Board is to divide the board into eight sections.  Each of these nine sections represents a basic area of life, such as relationships, health and opportunities.  It is best to focus on just one goal in each of these nine areas at any given time.

Be specific in defining your goals. A picture of a stack of money is only part of it, the  mind will go to work to get you money, but if you want it in the amount of $20,000 deposited in your bank account, you need to specify that.  So write a short phrase that includes this information.

Use goals cards to define your goals, index cards work well, or you make make up your own. Each goal card should be separate and distinct. This way the goal cards can be easily attached and removed from your Vision Board.
You can also slightly update your goal cards with extra words or images as you work towards your goal.
