I have been scrapbooking and crafting for some years now. Sometimes I can’t get my head round the fact that I started 16 years ago when my son as just a one year old. How time has flown!!. Over this time, I have used many crafting tools and there are some that really have stood the test of time.  I thought I would write a quick blog post on my My Top 8 All Time Favourite Crafting Tools.

Having said that, there are also some others, that I haven’t been using as long, however I have made the decision to add them to my favorite’s list, because they are actually a good tool that I continue to use every time I craft.

So, I thought I would combine these two lists of tools and put together My Top 8 All Time Favourite Crafting Tool List

10 Benefits of Keeping a Journal

One of my My Top 8 All Time Favourite Crafting Tools is the Tonic Studios – Guillotine Paper Trimmer 8-1/2in. This cutter is a breeze to use and store. I’d give it 6 stars if I could!

It features a measuring grid in inches, a carry handle and a soft orange grip for cutting. The paper holding bar has bar tabs to hold on to the paper for a straight clean cut. It does’t obviously cut 12 x 12 paper, but perfect for smaller papers and photos.. It’s my replacement for my Creative Memories Guillotine (which I still do use now and again).

I just love these pallete knives, mainly because of the shape of the handle, which is very comfortable to hold.
With three different sizes for different types of mediums. Mine I very worn, covered in mixed media products and paint. full of character and I love  them!!

Another one of  My Top All Time 8 Favourite Crafting Tools is the Tim Holtz Micro Serrated Scissors. I just Love these scissors, there are two sizes. They are the best scissors, being a lefty they are comfortable to hold and easy to use. I find I can use them over and over to cut adhesive and its true, the  Non-stick coating minimizes adhesive build up. Excellent cutting on all types of material including sheet rubber, vinyl and adhesive backed papers. I have the smaller set specifically for fussy cutting.

What would we do without our shmooshers.. Definetly one of My Top 8 Favourite Crafting Tools used by many!! I prefer the round to the square as they are perfect for applying inks and paints into small areas. Plus I find them a little easier to blend – maybe because they are round and not square. I have used my foams to stencil, distress inking, applying paints to small areas, creating backgrounds, blending inks together and much more. They are a super  versatile product

I love this little brush pen, perfect for writing on dark colour cardstock.  Its extra fine tip is perfect for drawing highlights and fine details, as well as correcting stray lines. I have used this pen to draw over dried ink with alcohol markers and other pens.  The pen can also be used over ink to make corrections or add highlights. I have also used it to write words and doodle!!

7. Universal Heat Gun

My Heat Gun does not look like this anymore. It’s well used and covered with paint and resin, which unfortunately I just can’t get off.   It’s a quiet heat gun which allows you to work without interruption, distraction or loud humming noises. One of the best Crafting Tools of the heat gun variety around.

It’s round shape makes it easy to hold and directional pointing. It also has a stand which allows for the heat gun to be positioned away from your work-piece, without causing damage or accidental burn.
